
CHANTELLE JAMES KOOP, M.ED. R.PSYCH
Chantelle is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with over 20 years experience working with children (5+), adolescents, adults and parents. Chantelle has a passion for assisting people find purpose and build the life they want in school/work, relationships, leisure, or overall well-being through life’s challenges. Change can be exciting, scary, and, at times, hard. Chantelle sees herself as an ally who walks alongside her clients as they explore new insights, actions, and growth.
Chantelle’s counselling background focuses primarily in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). She also has training in Reverse Habit Training, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Reality Therapy, and Path Goal Setting. Chantelle uses an integrated, strength-based and values-focused approach when helping individuals learn new skills and make meaningful, sustainable changes.
Sometimes, other factors prevent us from reaching our full potential, such as difficulty with attention, memory, language or processing information. In this case, Chantelle can assist clients with identifying cognitive strengths/weaknesses through assessments and provide recommendations and interventions to support her clients.
Chantelle is fluent in French and English. She completed a B. Ed and M. Ed (Educational Psychology) from the University of Regina, and a Post-Degree Certificate in Special Education from the University of Saskatchewan. Her experience working in schools, care facilities, nonprofits, and private practice have taught her the importance of inclusion, compassion, and openness. Chantelle strives to provide a safe, considerate, and caring space to support her clients. She would be happy to meet with you and develop a plan together.
Office Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (daytime and evening)
Rate: $220/hour
