DEANNE ELSNER, MSW, RCSW
Deanne has been a therapist for more than 15 years. Her mission in life is to help those who are struggling achieve a life of abundance. She received a Masters of Social Work (MSW) with Clinical Specialization in 2005 from the University of Calgary and is Registered Clinical Social Worker with The Alberta College of Social Work (ACSW).
In the last few years, the field of psychology has exploded with new and exciting research and consequently new ways to help our clients. Deanne is dedicated to lifelong learning and growth and in the last 5 years has become proficient in new models of practice, such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (Externship and Core Skills - EFT), Internal Family Systems (Level 1 - IFS), Acceptance and Compassion Therapy (ACT) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). She is excited to share these advances in the field with you.
Deanne believes that there is a good reason that people think and behave the ways that they do. When working with Deanne, you are invited on a journey to explore your inner experiences, make sense of them and to heal wounds driving unhelpful thought/behaviour patterns. She loves her work and is truly honoured to walk alongside her clients as they take courageous steps towards healing. Deanne has a non-judgmental, empathetic, calm and caring approach that helps clients to feel safe. One of her greatest gifts is her extensive experience which she can put to use to assist you in gaining insight and enhancing self awareness. She firmly believes that enhancing understanding of ourselves and owning our story helps us to unhook from shame and self criticism and find healing in self-compassion.
Deanne specializes in anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, eating related issues (such as compulsive eating, restrictive eating, binge eating, mindful eating), self-acceptance and addictions. She works with Adults, Young Adults, Adolescents and Couples.
