
JANELLE TURNER, Provisional Psychologist
Janelle is a warm, empathetic, and client-centered therapist. She holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and is registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists as a Provisional Psychologist and with the Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association as a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC). Janelle has been immersed in the mental health field for the past eight years, and her professional journey is grounded in a passion for supporting others through life’s challenges and fostering last emotional well-being.
Central to her expertise is flexibility and adaptability, ensuring the therapeutic process fits best for each client’s strengths, values, and goals. Janelle works collaboratively with clients to address a wide range of mental health concerns. These include anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, self-esteem, sexuality, emotional regulation difficulties, and interpersonal relationships. She also has experience supporting those navigating the complex life transitions involved with perinatal and postnatal challenges.
Janelle is a certified sex therapy informed professional, and works with individuals and couples seeking clarity and growth in their sexuality. This might include challenges with desire compatibility and common sexual dysfunctions such as erectile and arousal concerns. Nothing is TMI or off the table - she welcomes every uncomfortable conversation with sensitivity to help you understand more about yourself and the pleasure life can hold
In her practice, Janelle draws from a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to the unique needs and goals of each individual. Her integrative and experiential approach is informed primarily by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), and elements of Internal Family Systems (IFS), while being trauma-informed, attachment based, and including mindfulness-based interventions. Additionally, she has received specialized training for bereavement and infertility support through Calgary’s Pregnancy and Infant Loss Centre.

She is sensitive to the diverse lived experiences of each person and strives to bring a culturally responsive lens to her work.
