TRACY DEAN, MSW, RCSW
Tracy is an MSW social worker and owner of Cochrane Counselling Centre with over 20 years of experience working with adults, adolescents (14+), couples and families. Tracy’s approach is rooted in a keen understanding of attachment science across the lifespan. Tracy has had extensive training in attachment based and widely respected Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) and has built a reputation in the community surrounding her work with couples in distress. Tracy assists couples in identifying unhelpful patterns in the relationship and enhancing emotional bonds.
Tracy uses a trauma-informed approach to her work with individuals including using emerging biological and neurological science, such as Polyvagal theory, combined with leading edge approaches such as Accelerated ResolutionTherapy, Acceptance and CommitmentTherapy and Internal Family Systems Theory to help you to gain an understanding of what is happening in your body and connect that with your thoughts, emotions and behaviour. She can use this understanding to help you to make changes in a supportive and effective way. She takes a collaborative, strength-based approach with clients to empower them to create the lives they long for. She believes that every client is unique and has within them the wisdom and strength to overcome any adversity.
Tracy is committed ongoing professional growth and is trained in the following: Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy , Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT-I for insomnia, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Internal Family Systems. She can use these approaches to customize a treatment plan to meet your goals.
Not only does Tracy have extensive experience, training and wisdom, she also provides a compassionate, safe, calm, and non judgmental approach to her work with clients.
